Evidence & Knowledge Management

Knowledge is power—especially when it comes to advancing meaningful adolescent and youth partnerships in Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (AYSRHR). Yet, despite growing recognition of the need for youth engagement in policymaking, programme design, and service delivery, many decisions affecting young people are still made without their voices, experiences, or leadership being fully considered.

It’s important for us to ensure that evidence, knowledge, and tools support youth-led and youth-centred approaches in a way that is practical and impactful. Too often, the experiences of young people, particularly those in low- and middle-income countries, are overlooked in global development discourse. Even where youth engagement is acknowledged, it is frequently tokenistic rather than substantive, with few practical mechanisms to translate engagement into systemic change.

Our commitment to changing this reality drives our work in Evidence & Knowledge Management. We seek to produce, co-create, and disseminate evidence that empowers young people and strengthens the broader field of AYSRHR. Grounded in our values of intersectionality, collaboration, and accountability, our approach ensures that the knowledge we generate directly applies to the challenges faced by youth-led organisations, policymakers, donors, and practitioners.

What is our knowledge generation process?

Our Evidence & Knowledge Management work follows a structured, collaborative approach to ensure that knowledge can be practically applied to advance youth partnerships in AYSRHR.
1. Identifying Knowledge Gaps
Our resources are mainly sourced from the knowledge gaps and lessons we gain from our Collective Action Learning Cycles, involving youth-led organisations, funders, researchers, and AYSRHR practitioners. We then identify the best knowledge, tools and resources that can be developed to better support the broader field of SRHR.
2. Developing Tailored Resources
Once we identify gaps, we co-create knowledge products designed for different stakeholders, including tips & recommendation reports, practical guides, case studies, toolkits, blogs, editorial articles and audiovisual materials. We prioritise accessibility by offering materials in multiple languages (English, French, Spanish).
3. Distributing Knowledge
Generating knowledge is only useful if it reaches the right people. All our resources are shared on our website’s resources page and are utilised during our capacity-building sessions and skills training workshops and courses. The resources can be used to inform decision-making and improve AYSRHR policies and programmes.
4. Linking to Outreach and Influence
Our evidence and knowledge products play a key role in shaping advocacy efforts and influencing decision-making. We integrate our insights into webinars, Instagram Lives, social media campaigns, international conference events, and global policy discussions. By collaborating with partners across sectors such as education, climate, and livelihoods, we strengthen the cross-cutting relevance of our work.
