Already Adapting | How the climate crisis is reshaping sexual and reproductive health and rights

Sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are not separate from climate change—they are among the most immediate ways climate impacts are being experienced in people’s daily lives. Yet climate and global health conversations continue to operate largely in parallel, leaving critical gaps in policy, funding, and action.

This report brings together evidence from nine youth-led organisations across Bangladesh, Botswana, India, Kenya, Pakistan, South Sudan, Zambia, and Zimbabwe through YIELD Hub’s 11th Action Learning Cycle. Their experiences reveal how floods, droughts, displacement, environmental degradation, and other climate-related shocks are disrupting access to healthcare, menstrual health, education, livelihoods, and bodily autonomy, particularly for young people and marginalized communities.

Published at a pivotal moment between COP30 and COP31, the report highlights why SRHR must be recognized as a climate justice issue today—not in the future. Alongside documenting challenges, it showcases youth-led solutions and offers a compelling case for greater investment, partnership, and accountability at the intersection of climate action and SRHR.
