At the YIELD Hub, we believe that young people should be at the centre of shaping policies, programmes, and funding decisions that affect their lives. However, despite increasing recognition of youth engagement in Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (AYSRHR), young people continue to face barriers to influence. Many lack access to decision-making spaces, struggle with visibility, or are excluded from critical conversations on funding and policy priorities.
Our role is to strengthen youth influence, create platforms for engagement, and support meaningful partnerships between youth advocates and key stakeholders. Through advocacy, digital engagement, and global convenings, we ensure that youth perspectives are heard and acted upon. By equipping young leaders and youth-serving organisations with the tools, networks, and opportunities needed to drive systemic change, we contribute to a future where youth partnerships in AYSRHR are the norm, not the exception.
What is our approach to Outreach & Influence?

We take a strategic four-step approach to ensure that our Outreach & Influence efforts support youth advocates, organisations, and initiatives in strengthening their influence.
1. Elevating Youth-Centred Advocacy |
We support youth-led organisations, movements, and networks by strengthening their ability to engage decision-makers, co-develop policy recommendations, and advocate for inclusive funding and programming. This can take different forms, such as, engaging in joint-advocacy efforts with funders and decision-makers, or co-hosting sessions with youth-led organisations at global forums to promote youth partnership. |
2. Strengthening Digital Engagement |
We use digital platforms to elevate youth perspectives, share advocacy tools, and engage diverse audiences. Through targeted campaigns and multimedia storytelling, we increase visibility and mobilisation. This includes running social media campaigns and creating blogs, videos and podcasts. |
3. Expanding Global Influence |
We ensure that youth-serving organisations and advocates can access high-level decision-making spaces where policies, funding, and programmes are shaped. This involves presentations at global conferences, summits, and regional convenings, as well as strengthening youth participation in technical working groups and advisory panels. |
4. Connecting Advocacy to Knowledge |
Our Outreach & Influence work is deeply connected to our Evidence & Knowledge Management and Action Learning & Capacity Building objectives. We integrate our insights into webinars, Instagram Lives, social media campaigns, international conference events, and global policy discussions. By collaborating with partners across sectors such as education, climate, and livelihoods, we strengthen the cross-cutting relevance of our work. |
